A GLOBAL TALENT VISA RECIPIENT, Gloria Alcalá in an American multi-disciplinary theatre artist residing in London. Gloria is known for their tour de force play AN ENDLESS SHIFT (ArtsWest, Seattle commission, world premiere. United Solo Festival, Off Broadway, New York), a number of mainstage productions, park shows and tours with Seattle Shakespeare Company, and the viral, queer, Brooklyn, NY sensation BUTCH WICKED.

With an affinity for new work and comprehensive Shakespeare - Gloria is committed to the gritty, bold, intellectual and inventive. A BFA in Theatre from private arts conservatory Cornish College of the Arts, Gloria’s background in classical text has laid an earnest foundation in their pursuit of the representation of trans and queer stories to fortify the greater Shakespeare and musical theatre cannons. In NYC, Gloria workshopped several new queer musicals - including WE START IN MANHATTAN (Live&In Color), WHILE I’M STILL YOUNG (BerkleeNYC), and ATALANTA (Lucier & Rose). Gloria is also interested in the inherent queerness of Shakespeare and is committed to exploring this through research and Shakespeare study.

Gloria’s works extends from onstage to off via literary consultancy, direction, and theatre education.
