Gloria Alcalá is a stage and screen actor, singer, dancer, writer and instrumentalist, based in Seattle, WA. Gloria has recently received their BFA in Theatre from Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, WA 2019) and is an Equity Membership Candidate/SAG-AFTRA eligible. Most recently seen onstage in Seattle in The Tempest at Seattle Shakespeare company as Ariel. Other regional credits include The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane at Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Native Gardens at Intiman Theatre. Gloria has also been seen onstage in Seattle at Taproot Theatre (Bright Star), 12th Avenue Arts (Disenchanted!), and participated in many local theatre events including The Umbrella Project, 14/48, ACT Lab, and many staged readings. Film credits include Midday Black Midnight Blue (post-prod).
Gloria is a former teaching artist at Village Theatre Kidstage. As an educator, Gloria’s focus is helping student access and develop a relationship with their inner storyteller.
Gloria is the recipient of the Jimmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical (Arizona state, 2015), and was recently nominated for The Gregory Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Musical (TPS, Seattle, WA, 2019).
